In today’s world, metals are the unsung heroes that keep the lights on. Metals are at the center of every technological innovation, from the smartphones that we hold in our hands to the rockets that go beyond the stars.

According to a quote attributed to Andrew Carnegie, “The man who acquires the ability to take full possession of his own mind may take possession of anything else to which he is justly entitled,” and this is precisely what we have created with metals! via our mastery of their power, we have transformed basic resources into the basis of civilization via our efforts.

Metals are a magical substance

Metals are highly flexible, in addition to being sturdy and bright. Through its ability to carry electricity, copper, for instance, is responsible for powering our globe, while titanium is used in the construction of aircraft and medical implants. Through the process of mixing metals, we are able to produce materials that are even more robust, known as alloys. Steel, for example, is resistant to corrosion and wear.

H.P. Geithner, a metallurgist, is quoted as saying, “Without metals, there is no innovation,” and the current scientific community demonstrates this on a regular basis.
